What are the responsibilities and job description for the Power Settlements Analyst position at Mercuria?
Responsibilities:
Energy Trading Settlement Activities:
- Prepare energy settlements related to energy management agreements, bilateral power, transmission charges, ISOs, and/or internal transactions with complex trade components.
- Knowledge of electric power markets - ISO/RTO’s including ERCOT, CAISO, MISO, PJM, NYISO and SPP.
- Timely and accurate settlement of physical and financial energy trading activity including the resolution of aged balances.
- Resolve and explain prior period adjustments.
- Prepare and submit regulatory filings (EIA, FERC etc.).
- Follow internal control procedures to ensure proper documentation and information accuracy.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with counterparties and internal contacts with timely responses to requests for information and research.
- Provide Settlements subject matter expertise for new activity integration projects.
Technical qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree.
- Strong technical, analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of Bilateral Power and/or ISO Settlement experience.
- Knowledge of ISO/RTO portals.
- Experience with ISO/Power Management/Shadow Settlement software (APX, PowerOptix, Adapt2, PCI).
