Position Summary: The Construction Manager is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the end-to-end management of telecommunications construction projects, including fiber installations across aerial, underground, and buried infrastructure. This position directs cross-functional teams, supervises contractors and internal staff, ensures compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and manages budgets, schedules, and quality outcomes for multiple concurrent projects across various market footprints.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage construction projects from planning to completion, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and quality standards.
- Supervise and mentor construction coordinators, project managers, and contractors, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with engineering, permitting, and utility partners to obtain required permissions and design approvals.
- Maintain strong relationships with municipalities, regulatory agencies, and third-party contractors, including conducting pre-construction meetings and negotiating agreements when necessary.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with safety regulations, including OSHA, NESC, and local/state/federal guidelines.
- Drive milestone tracking, data integrity, and reporting accuracy.
- Conduct project audits, quality checks, and ensure compliance, records accuracy, and documentation completeness.
- Provide regular reporting and project updates to leadership.
- Respond to emergencies, outages, or customer escalations as needed, coordinating prompt resolutions.
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in telecommunications construction or engineering, including supervisory or project management experience.
- Strong knowledge of OSP construction methodologies (aerial, buried, underground, direct buried).
- Proficient in project management software and tools including Excel, GIS platforms, fiber design tools, and work management systems.
- Familiarity with fiber optic systems, splicing, and installation best practices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining focus on timelines, budgets, and quality.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Attributes
- PMP certification or equivalent project management training.
- Technical knowledge of RUS standards, NESC, and telecommunications permitting processes.
