Sheet Metal Fabricator/Shop Hand

Mercury Control, Inc is a growing HVAC company and is in search for an experienced Sheet Metal Fabricator to join our team. We fabricate our own materials at our shop in Needville, TX. When you're not busy fabricating metal there is plenty to do at the shop! Our ideal candidate is a team player!

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Metal Fabricator to join our team. As a Metal Fabricator, you will be responsible for constructing and assembling metal structures and components. This is a hands-on role that requires expertise in using various tools and equipment to fabricate metal products.

Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements
- Measure, cut, and shape metal components using hand tools, power tools, and machinery
- Weld or join metal pieces together using various welding techniques
- Operate machinery such as shears, presses, and grinders to fabricate metal parts
- Perform quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet specifications
- Follow safety protocols and adhere to building codes and standards
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and within budget

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience as a Metal Fabricator or similar role
- Proficient in basic math calculations for measurements and dimensions
- Strong knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and machinery used in metal fabrication
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Familiarity with welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, or ARC welding
- Experience with plasma cutting and pipe threading is a plus
- Attention to detail and ability to work with precision
- Physical stamina to perform tasks that require standing, bending, lifting, and carrying heavy objects

Pay is based on experience. Raises offered quickly depending on job performance.
