Are you a driven and detail-oriented leader with a background in fabrication, oil, drafting, and engineering? We are looking for someone like you to step into the pivotal role of Fabrication Manager at our rapidly expanding company in East Texas. This company are renowned for quality, innovation and delivering on time world class fabrications products.
In this role, you'll be at the heart of our operations, overseeing shop activities and ensuring that we continue to produce top-notch quality while maintaining a culture of safety. We are looking for a dynamic highly driven and respected leader, you will take full responsibility for 60 to 80 staff, fabrications teams and quality teams are all direct reports.
What You'll Be Doing:
Leadership & Team Building:
- Lead a talented team in our vessel and/or tank shops, providing guidance, support, and resolving any challenges that come up.
- Be the go-to person for training new employees, guiding them through the quality policies, job requirements, and safety practices.
- Collaborate with the Director of Operations to make sure every new hire is set up for success.
Driving Production Success:
- Play an essential role in shaping and adjusting the manufacturing production schedule.
- Keep a watchful eye on production processes to ensure everything is running smoothly, with no compromise on quality.
- Spot and address any material defects, potential process improvements, and product weaknesses before they become problems.
- Communicate directly with the Production Manager to prevent any delays in production.
Commitment to Quality & Safety:
- Work hand-in-hand with inspectors to ensure quality records are meticulously completed.
- Uphold and promote a safety-first culture, ensuring that all incidents are reported and employees are equipped with the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Be proactive in identifying areas for safety improvements, always striving for a hazard-free work environment.
Collaboration with Engineering & Drafting Teams:
- Team up with engineers and drafters to ensure smooth execution of fabrication designs.
- Offer valuable feedback on designs to enhance efficiency and quality, keeping innovation at the forefront of your work.
What We're Looking For:
- Strong communicator with excellent written and verbal skills.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
- Ability to spot issues and drive continuous improvement in fabrication processes.
- Bilingual in Spanish? That's a plus, but not required.
- Flexibility to work varied hours when needed.
