Position Overview

The Associate Brand Manager will work closely with internal teams and external partners to support and execute brand strategies for Mercury Marine’s internal combustion engines and Controls & Rigging portfolios. Reporting to the Brand Manager, this role is critical to ensuring alignment of brand resources, development of communication plans, and execution of marketing initiatives that drive customer engagement and business growth.

The role combines strategy implementation and tactical execution to support B2C and B2B initiatives, driving awareness, consideration, and value for Mercury’s products. The role is integral to fueling continued growth for Mercury Engines (internal combustion) and Controls & Rigging and will be responsible for delivering optimal marketing impact and increased customer value.

Essential Functions

  • Assist in the development, go-to-market planning, and execution of strategies for Mercury’s internal combustion engine and Controls & Rigging product categories.
  • Collaborate with Brand Manager to manage and implement brand strategies, including product positioning, messaging, and communications to support launches and ongoing marketing efforts.
  • Traffic campaign content across owned channels and with external partners, ensuring consistency and alignment.
  • Partner with the Brand Marketing Director and Brand Managers to develop and execute annual marketing plans, incorporating all aspects of the marketing mix, such as packaging, product launches, digital campaigns, promotions, market research, and media.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal teams (e.g., operations, creative, finance) to ensure seamless communication and alignment on marketing initiatives.
  • Leverage customer insights and audience data to inform brand strategies and enhance marketing effectiveness.
  • Support the development and execution of product launches in partnership with Category, Regional Marketing, Marketing Services, and Digital teams.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on brand campaign performance and competitor activities to derive actionable insights.
  • Assist in managing the marketing budget for assigned product categories as part of the overall Power Systems marketing budget.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in brand or marketing roles, ideally within consumer products.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in developing and managing integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Ability to present ideas effectively to colleagues and senior leadership.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word at an intermediate to advanced level.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% for trade shows and events.
  • Experience in the marine industry is a plus.
