Job Summary:
Mercury Systems is seeking an Expert Systems Architect to collaborate and lead cross functional engineering teams to influence the next-generation of Mercury’s industry-leading secure processing solutions. In this role as a security product architect, you will have a significant role guiding Mercury’s product roadmap and architect future solutions to address processor secure boot requirements while working with Systems Engineering partners to drive the technical baseline development of Mercury processing solutions across the system lifecycle. You will support program activities as a Subject Matter Expert and author technical reports and related items as subcontract data item deliverables. Contribute to continued process improvement within one of the fastest-growing segments of the business. Ensure that systems are built, integrated, and tested according to internal product requirements and quality standards.

Job Responsibilities:
- Conceptualizes, models, and guides the architecture and design of secure boot for processors such as Intel Server-class, Intel Mobile, ARM, and RISC-V architectures.
- Identifies, analyzes, and resolves system design weaknesses.
- Influences the shaping of future products by contributing to the framework (architecture) used across multiple products or systems.
- Provides multi-layered technical expertise for next generation initiatives.
- Define in detail embedded computer architecture, including Intel server and mobile class implementations, defining total systems design, technology, and interface operational concepts.
- Develops and documents the framework for integration and implementation for changes to technical standards.
- Tracks industry trends and maintains knowledge of new technologies to better serve the enterprise's architecture needs.
- Serve as the main technical contact for projects.
- Provides technical guidance to project team areas as appropriate.
- Master's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
Typically requires 10 years working with external customers and internal stakeholders to identify critical needs with system features and performance issues
- Knowledge of UEFI Secure boot, Intel UEFI BIOS architecture, Xilinx MPSoC Secure Boot, Intel’s TXT technology, and operating system boot loaders
- Experience with Security Systems Engineering principles, including risk-based analysis to create derived requirements and facilitate design specification development
- Direct experience validating, verifying, and deploying security hardened systems and sub-components
- Direct experience architecting and realizing security solutions within Linux, hypervisors, and/or containerization
- Hands on experience developing inputs (Feature, stories) for agile development execution
- Present to customers status of technical issues and technical presentations as a subject matter expert
- Responsible for providing an accurate assessment of the scope of work for projects and accurate assessments of progress
- Understands and addresses cost, schedule and performance impacts and provides trade-offs for programs decisions
- Experience implementing Model Based Systems Engineering principles
- Experience with threat modeling, weakness analysis, and data flow diagrams
- This position requires you to have or obtain a government security clearance. Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens
- Location: Huntsville, AL
- Model Based Systems Engineering principles, specifically SysML
- Active Secret Clearance
