What are the responsibilities and job description for the Principal Financial Analyst FP&A position at Mercury Systems?
Be a part of the Corporate FP&A team that is leading process improvements across the business to maximize operational excellence and provide support to the leadership team to achieve the company's growth and scalability goals! You'll have the opportunity to work directly with the Corporate FP&A team and leadership to budget, forecast, analyze, report, and manage the corporate departments and total company financial statement consolidation. Leverage value-added critical thinking and analytical skills to provide the financial forecasting product necessary to allow the company to reach its' goals built on strong operational excellence and profitable growth. The ideal candidate is someone who is a collaborative teammate, who is a self-starter and thrives on meeting deadlines.
Job Responsibility:
- Monitoring actual expenses and comparing to budget and forecast to identify and understand variances
- Communicating variances to upper management during monthly review meetings and identifying risks and opportunities
- Creating monthly and quarterly financial performance reports that clearly and easily present data for users to make decisions
- Assisting in the creation of annual operating budget and monthly management review packages
- Making sure that the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of financial data are in place
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, administration, management or related field
- 6 years' relevant experience
- Experience with financial systems and databases. Hyperion and Oracle are preferred
- Understanding of key accounting principles
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Candidate must be a US Citizen or a Green Card Holder / Permanent Resident
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and present financial data to other functions and upper management in an accurate, concise, and understandable manner
- Power BI or Power Pivot
- Excellent verbal and written communication as well as analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong work ethic and a sense of urgency to achieve results
- Self-starter who thrives in meeting deadlines
