Job Description

Job Summary:

Mercury is looking for an experienced Project Planning and Control lead to join its growing program team which is responsible for the complete lifecycle and project execution of critical programs. This is a key role that will be at center of all the product execution and delivery for two lines of business.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets in collaboration with project managers and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor project progress and performance, identifying potential risks and issues, and implementing corrective actions to ensure projects stay on track.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, finance, procurement and operations to ensure project deliverables are met on time and within budget.
  • Prepare and present regular project status reports to senior management and customers.
  • Utilize project management software and tools to track project milestones, resources, and costs.
  • Conduct variance analysis and implement cost control measures to optimize project performance.
  • Support the development and implementation of project management best practices, processes, and tools.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and contractual requirements.
  • Provide training and mentoring to junior project team members.
  • Maintain positive relationships within the IPT and customer base.
  • Drive continuous improvement in processes and procedures.
  • Identify and manage program challenges and lead their solutions, such as allocating resources, changing contractual specifications, and directing responses to customer needs.
  • Oversee changes to the project baseline, including engineering change notices, customer change orders, re-baseline and return to green efforts.
  • Coordination with the Global Sales team to understand customer requirements, schedule, and price targets and then build a program proposal that will be executable upon award.
  • Identify and assess risks, opportunities, and issues against the execution or proposal baseline.
  • Expertise in USG, International, and Commercial contract execution, reviews and management.
  • Compliance with FAR, DFAR, ITAR, and Export Regulations.
  • Managed and/or supported all contract types; FFP, FPIF, CPFF, CPAR, T&M, IDIQ and BOA.
  • Established systems to ensure compliance with Purchasing (CPSR) and Estimating System reviews.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math), Business Management or other related degree.
  • 5 years of execution and project planning experience
  • Proficiency in project management software: Ex. Microsoft Project, Cobra, and Power BI or similar tools.
  • Experience managing complex technical programs across commercial and defense markets.
  • Ability to understand a broad portfolio, spanning multiple customers and product platforms, including hardware, software, and manufacturing.
  • This position requires you to have or obtain a government security clearance. Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's in business administration (MBA), Business Management.
  • Professional Certification: PMP, CPCM, CFCM or similar
  • 5 years of experience with US DoD (DFARS) content.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Understands systems and technologies for avionics, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, targeting, communications, and networking.
