What are the responsibilities and job description for the Barback/Food Runner position at Mercury?
Mercury is looking to add another member to our crew!
Mercury is a cocktail lounge with a rotating menu of creative cocktails, fine wine, and bar snacks. Located on the corner of 16th and Harney, we are located in the downtown district across the street from the historic Orpheum Theater.
Our number one focus is hospitality, so first and foremost we are looking for someone who is warm and friendly to make all of our guests feel welcome.
Our barback compensation package includes $13.50/hr wage plus tips (it has been $5-9/hr the last 3 months,) health insurance, paid time off, shift meals/drinks, paid holidays, and wellness program.
The ideal candidate would have interest or background in food or customer service and a warm, friendly disposition . While we are always interested in someone with in-depth cocktail, spirit, and wine knowledge, we are willing to train someone whose passion and personality are a good fit.
This barback position would be first in line for a promotion to bartender when a new position opens.
