Job Summary:
The People & Culture Generalist plays a vital role in supporting the overall employee experience by overseeing various human resources functions, fostering company culture, and ensuring compliance with HR policies and procedures. This position will be responsible for employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, compliance, and engagement initiatives. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver with strong interpersonal skills and a passion for cultivating a positive workplace culture.
Essential Functions: Include but are not limited to:
Employee Relations & Culture Development
- Act as a trusted resource for employees, providing guidance on HR policies, procedures, and workplace matters.
- Support employee engagement efforts by developing and implementing programs that enhance workplace culture and team collaboration.
- Assist in conflict resolution and provide recommendations to leadership on best practices for fostering a healthy workplace culture.
- Manage and analyze employee feedback through engagement surveys, exit interviews, and other feedback tools to improve retention and satisfaction.
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Partner with hiring managers to develop job descriptions and recruitment strategies that attract top talent.
- Screen candidates, coordinate interviews, and assist with the hiring process to ensure a smooth and efficient experience.
- Oversee and improve the onboarding process to ensure new hires feel welcomed, informed, and integrated into the company culture.
- Maintain job postings and recruitment platforms while tracking hiring metrics for continuous improvement.
HR Compliance & Policy Administration
- Ensure company policies and procedures align with labor laws and industry best practices.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, including performance documentation, disciplinary actions, and compliance reports.
- Assist in updating and communicating HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook.
- Monitor federal, state, and local employment laws to ensure organizational compliance.
Benefits Administration & Payroll Support
- Assist employees with benefits enrollment, questions, and claims.
- Support benefits administration, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave management.
- Coordinate with payroll to ensure accurate and timely processing of employee information related to benefits, compensation, and leave.
Training & Development
- Support leadership in identifying training and development needs for employees at all levels.
- Assist in the development and facilitation of training programs related to leadership, compliance, professional development, and company values.
- Track training participation and effectiveness to improve future learning initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 3 years of experience in human resources, people operations, or a related role.
- HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
Technical Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in HR software, applicant tracking systems (ATS), and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with benefits administration and HR compliance reporting.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Passion for fostering a positive workplace culture and driving employee engagement.
