The incumbent is responsible for providing direct health care services to the cardiac surgery patient population. Within this role the incumbent synthesizes theoretical scientific and contemporary clinical knowledge for the assessment and management of both health and illness states. The primary care provided consists of evaluation of normal and abnormal findings initiation of treatments and coordinating the discharge process. These functions will be performed in accordance with the Standardized Procedures approved by the Mercy General Hospital Committee for Credentials and Interdisciplinary Practices and Cardiology section.
