Job Details

  • ED Holds / Tele position at Mercy Gilbert Medical Center in Arizona.
  • Travelers will need to pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to start, through UNA, only (with 2 max attempts).
  • There is also a PASS / FAIL SIM LAB on day one of orientation.

    • Job Requirements

  • Must have a strong cardiac tele background, preferably 2 years.
  • Must be able to decrease cardiac drips per physicians’ orders and parameters.
  • Nurses will be caring for more tele patients VS medical.
  • RNs are required to titrate drips.

    • Schedule Information

  • 12 hr shifts (7a - 7p or 7p - 7a).
  • Ability to self-schedule; however this could change from time to time.
  • Weekend Requirement : 4 weekend shifts in a 4 week schedule.
  • Holiday Requirement : Rotate in with the perm staff.

    • Unit Specific Information

  • Unit / Department specific orientation : 2 shifts orientation to Med / Surg / Tele at primary campus.
  • Will be caring for patients from the ER who are waiting on a bed in the hospital.
  • May be asked to help with ED patients including vitals, IV starts and medication administration.

    • Additional Details

  • Common diagnoses / Types of patients : ED holds waiting for placement on a unit, primarily MS / Tele.
  • Charge Nurse / House Supervisor : ED charge nurse.
  • Floating Requirements : Would float to med / surg / tele / overflow units and CRMC / MGMC Eds as needed.
  • Scrub Color / Dress Code : Navy.
