About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at GoHealth Urgent Care. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our centers.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of an urgent care provider
- Manage the check-in and registration process, interview patients, measure vital signs, and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis
- Record medical history, take vitals, and escalate critical cases
- Maintain exam rooms, stock supplies, and manage inventory
- Update medical records and scan documents
- Answer phone calls and handle mail
- Perform point-of-care testing, phlebotomy, and administer injections as needed
Requirements
- Graduate of Medical Assisting Program preferred
- Certification in Medical Assisting (e.g., CCMA, CMA, RMA, NCMA, NRCMA)
- Ability to type quickly and basic computer knowledge
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
