Primary Function/General Purpose of Position -
The Cardiovascular Technology Student assists physician in performance of all cardiovascular procedures, demonstrating competency in all positions assigned. Analyzes and interprets collected procedural data, provides effective patient care to patients, and all acuity levels. Maintains inventory and charges appropriately for procedures, performs all procedures per protocol, participates in quality assurance and performance improvement programs as requested. All tasks performed under the supervision of a preceptor.
Essential Job Functions
- Utilizes appropriate processes and documents in accordance with TJC and other regulatory standards for each patient
- Demonstrates ability to provide comprehensive care to patients with supervision
- Demonstrates the ability to function in assigned role with supervision of a preceptor
- Demonstrates appropriate care to moderate sedation patients with supervision of preceptor if applicable
- Under the supervision of a preceptor, provides care in compliance with establish policies, procedures and standards of care; including but not limited to administration of medications, contrast, and starting IV's as well as IV fluids under the direction of the physician or nurse as prescribed or indicated by the patient's condition and or physician orders
- Operates imaging equipment in accordance to industry standards and patient safety
- Accurately records in the electronic medical record
- Actively pursue personal growth and development in area of study

BLS Basic Life Support – American Heart Association (required)
