Job Description:
The Med-Surg Registered Nurse position is responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to patients with medical and surgical diagnoses. This includes assessing patient status, implementing clinical nursing interventions, and developing patient care plans to enhance outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patient status and develop patient care plans to enhance outcomes
- Implement clinical nursing interventions, including medication administration and vital sign collection
- Collaborate with the care team to ensure comprehensive patient care and achieve planned and expected outcomes
- Administer medications safely and consistently with State of Practice and Mercy Health policies and procedures
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (preferred)
- One year of RN experience (required)
- Six months RN experience in an acute care hospital setting (preferred)
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care)
