Weekends are Fri / Sat for nights & Sat / Sun for days.

Ratios : 1 to 4 unless ICU patient would be 1 to 2

Nurse Aides : ED Techs are EMT or aides from other units
Tele : Phillips
Vents : Yes
Hospitalist or Intensivist in house : Yes - only use MD's in the ER
IV Team : No
RT 24 / 7 : Yes
Pharmacy 24 / 7 : Yes & Omnicell
Floating could happen between the 2 facilities to the ER. If floated prior to shift, would get a 2 hour notice prior start. Mid-shift floating could happen. The facilities are only 6.5 miles apart.
Floor specific orientation : 2 shifts at the primary campus & 1 shift at the other campus.
Common diagnosis / Types of patient’s : Typical ER patients. Some days they have MedSurg Tele holds in the ER. ER Nurses will be expected to take these patients.
Additional Notes : They are a Primary Stroke Center. They rarely hold "5150 psych holds" longer than 12 hours. They utilize the MET Team (Mobile Eval Team). Could see 115 patients one day than 175 patients the next day. This must be their primary job. They will not work around another work schedule to accommodate hours. Must be very teamwork oriented.
