Position Overview:
This role is dedicated to assisting homeless and at-risk families and individuals in overcoming cycles of instability, aiming for improved economic opportunities, independence, and permanent housing. The primary responsibility is to help households secure stable housing by identifying potential housing options. The position requires flexibility, including weekend, morning, and evening shifts, as well as reliable transportation. The Housing Solutions Leasing Supervisor will oversee this role, with occasional collaboration with the Housing Solutions Senior Manager in the supervisor’s absence.
Key Responsibilities:
I. Housing Advocacy
Goal: Secure and maintain quality, affordable housing for clients
- Gain a thorough understanding of the local housing market and foster relationships with landlords, property managers, real estate agents, developers, and others in both the for-profit and non-profit sectors
- Develop and maintain connections within the regional housing market
- Collaborate with case managers, navigators, and leasing agents to exchange housing leads
- Prepare informational packets for landlords
- Keep a list of potential housing opportunities for clients experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness
- Identify and secure market-rate, affordable, and low-income housing options
- Make outreach calls to landlords to inquire about available housing
- Seek non-traditional or creative housing options for clients
- Match Rapid Re-housing clients with suitable housing leads
- Respond to phone inquiries and provide appropriate referrals
- Assist with housing inspections and rent reasonability evaluations
- Support at-risk households in maintaining their housing or relocating to more suitable accommodations
- Resolve conflicts with landlords and property managers when necessary
II. Team Support
Goal: Provide assistance to the Rapid Re-housing program team
- Answer phone calls and requests promptly
- Act as a resource for the Rapid Re-housing program team on housing-related matters
- Collaborate with case managers to support client needs during housing searches
- Assist in gathering documentation and offer client coaching as needed
III. Fair Housing and Legal Issues
Goal: Stay current on fair housing laws and legal issues to benefit the agency and clients
- Stay informed on Fair Housing Laws, legal issues, and regulations
- Consult with program staff about client-related legal concerns
IV. Miscellaneous
- Participate in networking events, community meetings, and meet with funders and partner agencies
- Assist with program activities as required
- Attend staff/team meetings, training sessions, and team-building events
- Cultivate new partnerships with other agencies to improve service offerings
- Continuously enhance job performance by attending seminars, conferences, and reviewing professional publications

Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of office-related experience
- High attention to detail and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong self-motivation with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, responsible, and excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Access to dependable transportation for field work as needed
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse population and manage multiple tasks
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- Must meet department and company performance standards
Salary : $21
