Maintenance Technician - 1180 4th Street Apts

The successful Maintenance Technician will complete preventative maintenance, minor repairs, and apartment turnovers. You are part of the maintenance team, responsible to ensure a high standard of cleanliness, customer service, and a hazard-free environment.

We encourage candidates with lived experience to apply. This is an on-site position at Mercy Housing’s 1180 4th Street Apartments. This property is a gateway to San Francisco’s Mission Bay South neighborhood at the corner of 4th and Channel streets, is part of a fast-growing neighborhood that includes a new campus and medical center for the University of California, San Francisco. 1180 4th Street features 99 affordable rental homes for very-low and low-income families and 50 affordable apartments for formerly homeless households. 1180 4th Street is a non-smoking, six-story community of 150 one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments. Common areas include two levels of courtyards and gardens, as well as a large community room with a kitchen, and a space for supportive services. Two family day-care apartments also operate onsite, serving children from the property and greater community.

Pay: $25.00

Duties:

• Completes work orders in a timely and accurate manner. Cleans up after work is complete.
• Performs repairs on the property, including painting, basic carpentry or wall repair, plumbing, and electrical.
• Cleans apartments during turnover process, as directed.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of basic building maintenance required either through training or experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year in skilled maintenance work.
• Technical training in one or more building trades preferred.

Knowledge and Skills

• Take direction from the supervisor.
• Read, write, do basic math, and follow instructions.
• Flexible to change work plans.
• Maintain a professional personal appearance.
• Legally operate a motor vehicle (valid driver's license and insurance).
