Summary
The Mercy team is interested in hiring an experienced Emergency Department coder! The Coder identifies, reviews, interprets, codes, and abstracts clinical information from inpatient, observation, and in/our surgical records for the purpose of reimbursement, research and compliance with federal and state regulations and other agencies utilizing established coding principles and protocols.

Requirements
- Education and Work Experience:
- Must possess a high school diploma or GED
- Coding education preferred, along with 2 years of coding experience
- Certification: must possess coding certification through AAPC or AHIMA
- Must be extremely flexible and be able to multi-task
- Must be willing to work at our downtown hospital, at any of our hub site locations, or remotely.
- Must be able to use Windows & Outlook
- Must be able to communicate effectively with physicians, management, and peers.
