The Dietitian is a member of the Gastroenterology team and serves as the resource and instructor for patients, families, and professionals on nutritional issues in the management of gastrointestinal disorders. The Dietitian will also work directly with the Liver Transplant team in their monthly clinic. The Dietitian assesses the patient, provides dietary recommendations, instructs the patient/family in the plan and evaluates the success of the patient and plan to meet the dietary goals of the patient.

License Requirements: Licensed (LDN) by the DHMH of Maryland and by the national credentialing board of the ADA, Commission on Dietetic Registration (RD).

- Certification Requirements: Certified Diabetes Educator preferred (CDE).
- Age Specific Care Provided For: Pediatrics Adolescents Adults Geriatrics
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize one or more of the following:
- Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel
- Microsoft Outlook
- Meditech (if applicable to position)
- Epic (if applicable to position)
- Performance Manager/NetLearning Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner. Must be able to work independently and possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Must possess the ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with other personnel, visitors, patients, physicians, customers, and the general public. Must be flexible, have personal integrity, and the ability to function effectively as a team with other employees. Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
- Other Requirements: Experience in individual patient education and public speaking
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- Education and Work Experience:
- Nutrition or related field at an accredited college or university
- 3 years as a working dietitian
- Licensed (LDN) by the DHMH of Maryland and by the national credentialing board of the ADA, Commission on Dietetic Registration (RD).
- Certification Requirements:
- Board Certification as a Specialist in Digestive Health preferred.
