What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Lab - Full Time position at Mercy Regional Medical Center?
Three years’ experience in a hospital Laboratory Management position preferred.
Bachelor’s Degree and registered by ASCP or equivalent.
Current Louisiana State CLS-Generalist licensure required
BLS (CPR) Certification required.
Knowledge of and adherence to current Laboratory theory and practice, infection prevention, and Laboratory standards of practice for hospital and rural health clinics.
Knowledge of accreditation standards to ensure adherence to all standards set forth by state and accrediting agencies of TJC and CMS, CLIA for hospital and rural health clinics.
Knowledge of clinical operations and procedures for hospital and rural health clinics.
Demonstrates an understanding of treatment costs and financial support as they relate to quality and efficiency.
Demonstrates general computer skills including data entry, word processing, email, and records management.
Demonstrates critical thinking skills.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection prevention standards.
Ability to maintain proper levels of confidentiality.
Ability to work closely and professionally with others at all levels of the organization.
