The Director, Building & Grounds Management reports directly to the Executive Director and is responsible for all duties of the department operations and maintaining the highest standards in our community. The Director assures overall quality and efficiency of building and grounds maintenance, community safety, and project management. Multi-million-dollar community renovations and repositioning project gets underway in 2025 and will continue for several years.

As a key member of our leadership team, the Director is responsible for enthusiastically leading our Maintenance Department and collaborating with others to ensure established organizational culture, core values, guiding principles and operational standards are consistently met. Manages energy conservation and sustainable measures in accordance with community’s LEED Certification. Co-Chairs and supports the interests and pursuits of the Resident Sustainability and Environment/Landscaping Committees. Chairs Community Safety Committee.
This position requires strong attention to detail, leadership skills, and the ability to effectively manage critical conversations, including coaching and counseling. Must be able to clearly and articulately communicate in English with employees, residents, family members, vendors, visitors and the general public. Bachelor's degree in facility management, engineering, business administration, or an acceptable related field. Five to seven years of hands-on maintenance, HVAC and other building/mechanical systems experience. Minimum of seven to ten years of management experience. This exempt, salaried leadership position is included in Manager on Duty rotation schedule on weekends and holidays.
