Mercy Ridge is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for our Assisted Living program. This is a non-exempt, part time position, which requires flexibility in scheduling (day/evening/night shifts and weekends). The incumbent will ensure that the highest quality of nursing care is provided to residents on the Assisted Living unit. Candidate must have prior Assisted Living experience; possess a current Maryland LPN license and a current CPR certification.
Essential Functions:
- Using the nursing process, provides care according to the individualized resident care/ service plan and is able to manage routine and emergency care in accordance with departmental policies and procedures. Care is provided in a structured environment.
- Prioritizes, plans, and provides direct resident care including the physical and psychological care of residents. Resident care may include the activities of daily living to include lifting, positioning or transferring patients that require physical assistance.
- Provides supervision and guidance to other direct and non-direct care staff assigned to work with residents.
- Participates in the data collection process and contributes to the plan of care by assisting the physician in planning for the residents’ health care needs and acts as the liaison between the resident and the physician.
- Communicates appropriate information to the health care team members as authorized by the Resident Care Manager, Delegating Nurse Manager and/or the Administrator of the Assisted Living Facility.
- Responds to emergency calls in both the Independent Living and Assisted Living areas and communicates with emergency personnel and family members as appropriate.
