Job Details
A hospital near Sacramento is looking for an experienced Cardiovascular ICU RN for a travel contract.
The right candidate will have 2 years of experience, hold an active BLS, ACLS, NIHSS and a CA License.
Job Requirements
2 years of experience in Cardiac ICU
Active BLS certification
Active ACLS certification
Active NIHSS certification
California state nursing license required
Schedule Information
12 hr shifts
Shift starts at 645
Report is at the bedside
OT and extra shifts are available
Self-scheduling is used, but is not finalized until Manager balances it
Schedules are out 4 weeks
Travelers can access their schedules from home and make themselves available for extra shifts and make trades with other staff
Weekend Requirement : Every other weekend
Holidays : Rotate in with core staff
Unit Specific Information
Floating : All other Sacramento facilities; mid-shift float to another facility is rare, but can happen; travelers float first
Floor specific orientation : 1 - 2 days on the floor with preceptor
Common diagnosis / Types of patients : AMI, AVR, MVR, respiratory failure, renal failure, IABP, CRRT, Empella, therapeutic hypothermia; chest tube insertion, intubation, and emergency sternotomies are common procedures
Additional Details
ACLS, BLS, NIHSS; Med Sol prescreens
Need 2 supervisory references (charge accepted) at submittal; 1 within 12 months & 1 within 3 years worked
Modules are required to be completed before start; Modules take 3-4 hours - not billable
Candidates may not have been directly employed by any facility associated with CommonSpirit within the past year
Prior to acceptance, the Dys exam through UNA is required along with acceptance; must be completed within 24-48 hours; it’s pass or fail and they get 2 attempts
A screenshot showing the number of attempts is required
We can accept the Relias Dys exam within the last 12 months if the traveler has previously taken
