Job Summary

Summary Description

The Hospitality Assistant / Barista is responsible for providing exceptional guest / staff experience and services at Mercy Ships International Office. This position is a dynamic, customer-facing role that requires high communication and professionalism with great attention to detail.

How You’ll Contribute

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Hospitality & Housekeeping

Approach all encounter with guests and employees in a welcoming manner.
Thoroughly clean and restock accommodations.
Restock janitorial supplies throughout campus.
Launder Bedding / Towels / Linens.
Complete janitorial tasks as assigned such as mopping and trash removal.
Clean and restock conference rooms.
Assist kitchen staff with serving food and in dish room.

Barista

Greet all persons in a welcoming manner.

Take orders accurately.

Prepare specialty drinks & food items.

Follow visitor safety procedures by logging campus guests and provide visitor badges as

required.

Follow food safety protocols.

Maintain temperature logs and waste logs.

Maintain cleanliness of Cafe through completing daily and weekly cleaning tasks.

Accurately complete weekly inventory.

Perform additional duties as assigned to support the hospitality team and overall operations.

Must be able to stand / walk for multiple hours; lift up to 25lbs.

Education And Experience

The requirements listed below are representative of the education and / or experience required.

High School Diploma or its equivalent required.

Food Handler’s permit.

Customer service experience required.

Hotel / Housing experience preferred.

Successful completion of Mercy Ships Entry Training will be required within the first year.
