Job Responsibilities
The Laboratory Support Technician (LST II) is responsible for accurate, timely, and effective provision of laboratory support mechanisms, observing HIPAA confidentiality requirements and lab policies.
This position requires excellent customer service skills, professionalism, and ability to utilize safe, accurate, effective methodologies while acquiring specimens.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience: Previous clinical laboratory experience preferred
LST I qualification includes high school diploma or equivalent, with preferred experience in previous clinical laboratory experience.
LST II qualification includes satisfactory completion of specific facility competencies, including but not limited to checklist, written examination, management observation, etc., to be eligible for advancement to the next higher job description.
LST III qualification includes high school diploma or equivalent, one year phlebotomy or clinical laboratory experience, and successful completion of probationary period.
LST IV qualification includes high school diploma or equivalent, two years clinical laboratory experience or equivalent, previous Mercy LST III designation or equivalency, and ASCP PBT certification or equivalent.
