Overview of the Job
We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Mercy. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for interpreting orders for requested exams, producing CT and diagnostic medical images, positioning and transferring patients.
You will also select proper technical factors on an individual patient basis, operate equipment as directed, provide protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards, assist physicians in administering enhancing agents and medications, and perform other delegated areas of authority.
In this role, you must be able to proficiently operate and use equipment related to all exams performed, the computerized radiology information system, and office equipment. You will also be responsible for assisting within all areas of radiology as needed, functioning as a cooperative team member on weekend and evening shifts, and reporting personnel and procedural incidents to the Section Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret orders for requested exams
- Produce CT and diagnostic medical images
- Select proper technical factors on an individual patient basis
- Operate equipment as directed
- Provide protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards
- Assist physicians in administering enhancing agents and medications
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Satisfactory completion of formal Radiologic Technology training
- Experience in a similar position with acquired experience and capability determined to be adequate for the position
- A.R.R.T. registered or registry eligible upon hire, and A.R.R.T. achieved within six months of employment
- The ability to maintain current CPR certification and assist in performing first aid as necessary
- Perform duties in the manner that reflects the basic Mercy Values of love and concern for others
Preferred Qualifications
- ARRT Advanced Level certification in CT Scan or working towards certification
