Job Description
As a Flight Nurse with Life Line, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in emergency situations. This role requires strong nursing skills, excellent judgment, and the ability to work well under pressure.
Qualifications
- Educational Background: Completion of an accredited school of nursing.
- Licensure: Current RN licensure in Missouri and compact licenses in Arkansas and Oklahoma.
- Experience: Minimum three years of experience in ER or Critical Care settings.
- Certifications: CEN, CCRN, or CFRN; PALS, TNCC, NRP, ITLS, or PHTLS within six months of service.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand and apply the nursing process to identify health problems, assess patients, plan interventions, and evaluate outcomes.
- Contribute to the nursing process as a team member, collecting information, identifying patient problems, formulating plans, implementing care, and evaluating effectiveness.
- Work in a pre-hospital/hospital environment, prioritizing scene safety, aircraft safety, and patient safety.
- Maintain physical fitness, lifting heavy loads, working in various climates, and exposing yourself to outdoor elements daily.
- Practice effective job mechanics in confined areas, manage stress, make sound judgments, and adapt to changing environments.
Physical Demands
- Push, pull, lift up to 40 lbs.
- Grip up to 75 lbs.
- Punch up to 10 lbs.
- Kneel, crouch, and crawl occasionally.
Technical Skills
- Use Cardiac Monitors, Non-Invasive/Invasive BP Monitors, Mechanical Ventilators, CO2 Monitors, IABPs, Infusion Pumps, and computers.
