Position: Flight Paramedic (EMT-P)
Location: Rogers, Northwest Arkansas
Hours/Shift: PRN/As-Needed
Overview:
Provides high-quality critical care, including assessment, triage, and treatment, while transporting patients. Working with the Flight Nurse, this position requires administering medicine and providing advanced life support in a helicopter's confined and noisy space. This role demands a combination of advanced clinical skills, quick decision-making, and the ability to work in high-pressure environments.
Job Duties:
- Assess, evaluate, develop plan of care, and treat and monitor critically ill patients under pressure.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration with the healthcare team, patient, and family to identify and meet physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
- Collect and interpret complex patient data to make clinical decisions for individual patient and family needs.
- Coordinate patient care and interventions for transitioning teams, receiving facilities, and providers.
- Assist in maintaining helicopter readiness, ensuring equipment and supplies are working and available.
Qualifications:
- Licensure: Current paramedic license in the state of operation (Arkansas EMT-P).
- Experience: Three years in ER or Critical Care.
- Certifications: Current BLS, ACLS, PALS.
- Must obtain ITLS or PHTLS within six months of service.
- Must obtain ATLS or equivalent within two years of service.
- Must obtain FP-C or CCP-C within two years of service.
- Other Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
- Must be able to operate a Cardiac Monitor, Non-Invasive and Invasive BP Monitor, Mechanical Ventilator, CO2 Monitor, IABP, Impella, Intubation, Infusion Pump, and computer.
