Mercy Clinic's Primary Care Assistants are an integral part of our team, working closely with providers and clinical care teams to deliver high-quality patient care.
The ideal candidate will have strong communication and teamwork skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support providers in preparing patients for visits by completing advanced standard room processes, taking vital signs, reviewing patient history and allergies, and conducting thorough medication reconciliations.
- Conduct in-office testing, including drawing blood, performing mental status exams, EKGs, walking oxygen studies, and point-of-care testing.
- Administer vaccines and injections within scope of practice.
- Schedule follow-up appointments as needed per office policy.
- Collaborate with providers and the clinical care team to monitor and coordinate delivery of care plans.
Requirements:
- Medical Assistant: High School Diploma or GED, BLS certification within 90 days, 6 months of clinical healthcare experience preferred.
- Certified Medical Assistant: Active Medical Assistant certification/registration (RMA, CCMA, CMA) or EMT/Paramedic accepted, BLS certification within 90 days.
- LPN/RN: Diploma in Practical Nursing or Registered Nurse, active LPN or RN licensure.
