Overview:

The Injury Prevention Specialist will work directly with the Trauma Program tocoordinate Health Center andcommunity injury prevention/education programs with the goal to reduce preventable injuries. This position provides safety education to all age groups. They will also provide assistance with trauma specific community outreach events. He/she will also provide oversight and coordination of grant processes and deliverables related to injury prevention.

 

Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or GED required.

Licensure: Valid state-issues Driver's License.

Experience: Knowledge of safety, injury prevention, public relations and marketing. Minimum of two years' experience working with student and adult audiences. Experience with public speaking for both child and adult audiences.

Other: Strong interpersonal skills needed. Program development and implementation skills required. Ability to communicate with a wide variety of audiences required. Ability to work in a team atmosphere is a must. Ability to communicate effectively and positively promote Mercy to all audiences. Should be self-motivated and organized. Computer skills required, especially Microsoft Office. Occasional travel is required. Routine evening and weekend work is required.
