Overview:
The Director for Managed Care Modelling and Performance has primary responsibility for providing an economic lens to our payor negotiation strategy, assessing impact of reimbursement changes through payor contract modeling (FFS, value, and risk-based arrangements), and leading economic analysis to support special projects, including strategic and operational decisions related to service line strategy and performance, site of service decisions, or regulatory/policy changes.
Director understands enough of hospital operations and back-office functions to factor implications of reimbursement methodology changes into negotiation strategy and execution. Must have experience with FFS, value, and risk-based contracts. Must demonstrate leadership through the development of succession plans, delegation of responsibilities that prepare employees for upward progression, and building a team culture. Must demonstrate problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, the ability to translate strategy into tactics, and measure and monitor performance against targets. Director has strong financial acumen and drives economic and financial outcomes. Director has demonstrated capability to operate in new, ambiguous spaces, develop and articulate direction in complex situations, and communicate effectively plans and outcomes to both leadership and their team.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum five (5) years recent managed care experience including supervision of at least 3-5 resources
- Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, business or health care administration
- Other Skills and Knowledge:
- Possess a strong understanding of Managed Care operations & reimbursement methodologies
- Strong financial acumen
- Complex problem-solving skills
- Critical Thinking
- Strategy development and implementation
- Hands-on leadership ability
- Must live in a Mercy Service Area; Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma or Arkansas. This is a hybrid position.
