Mercy's nurse extern program offers students the chance to gain valuable clinical experience during their school break while earning extra money.
Our externs will have the opportunity to gain additional preceptor clinical experiences at our hospital and be paid at an hourly rate while doing so.
The 8-week summer extern program provides a unique learning environment where participants can engage in hands-on training, build confidence in providing direct and indirect patient care, and increase approved nursing skills under the direction of their preceptor.
