Overview of Responsibilities
The Operating Room Nurse Specialist will utilize the nursing process to provide patient care, maintaining accountability for provision of care. They will evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by other caregivers, coordinate patient care with other departments, and maintain patient rights and confidentiality.
The ideal candidate will perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with Mercy's mission, values, and Service Standards.
Requirements
- Licensure: Obtain and maintain current RN licensure within the hiring state or compact licensure area.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year intraoperative nursing experience.
- Certifications: CNOR and RN-First Assistant certification required within one year of hire/transfer; BLS/ACLS certification also required within the first year.
- Preferred Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Preferred Experience: Three or more years of intraoperative experience.
- Preferred Certifications: CNOR, CRNFA.
