What are the responsibilities and job description for the RN - Dialysis - PRN position at Mercy?
- Acute dialysis and Peritoneal only
- No travel
- New Dialysis machines
- Hours of operation M -Sat 7a -7p. Sundays on-call for emergent only.
Acute Dialysis
The acute dialysis unit offers accommodations for 6 patients, as well as bedside treatments. Hemodialysis and Peritoneal dialysis are both offered at Mercy Hospital South. We provide comprehensive collaborative care to all adult and adult geriatric patients that require hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis, acute and chronic renal failure.
Acute Dialysis has a 6 bay unit located on the 6th floor of main hospital and portable to ICU. Our nurses work in a 1:1 or 1:2 nurse to patient ratio. The Co-workers include RNs, Techs, Case Manager, and Biomedical technicians.

- RN to BSN Bridging Program to assist in obtaining your BSN (up to $16,000).

Position Qualifications
- Dialysis experience preferred 6 months or greater
- Tech experience preferred and dialysis training program certificate
- One night a week call rotation.
- Call rotation for weekends.
- We require a nursing degree from an accredited school
- You’ll also need a current RN license in Missouri
- Basic life support, through the American Heart Association, is required and some floors may require additional certifications (ACLS, PALS, CCRN, etc.)
