Overview:
Under the direction of the ED nurse manager and director, assists in the development, organization, implementation and evaluation of the total service given in the Emergency Department. Effectively supervises ED techs and nurses in the delivery of patient care, ensuring that patient safety and customer satisfaction remain a priority. Assists in overseeing the departments daily staffing requirements; provides leadership in clinical problem solving and daily management of flow through the department. Participates in staff recruitment, orientation and retention and provides education as needed. Implements and interprets department and hospital policies and regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of accredited RN program. BSN preferred.
- Licensure: RN degree.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years working in an ED. Previous leadership experience.
- Certification/Registration: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ASLS.
- Other Skills and Knowledge: Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Must be able to work independently. Effective time management skills; ability to understand and manage patient flow. Proficiency with Epic. Ability to communicate effectively with providers, coworkers, patients and outside agencies.
