Overview:

This is a REMOTE position.

 

Provides instructional design and curriculum development expertise for both instructor-led and e-learning training and development programs requiring oversight of scope, training program design and development, and overall project management. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

 

Collaborates with subject matter experts to assess, recommend, design, develop and maintain instructor-led and online training materials. Responsible for the development and management of all phases of a project including proposals for strategy, design, technology use, project scope development, assembling of project team, identification of resources, project plan development, monitoring and reporting.Analyzes content, target audience, job tasks and learner environment to identify appropriate instructional strategies and define learning objectives.Plans and executes instructional design projects with minimal supervision, blending sound current internal and external best practice research, adult learning techniques, creativity, and the mission, vision and values of the Sisters of Mercy. Uses sound instructional design theory to create storyboards, scripts and course content incorporating graphics, audio, video and simulations as appropriate to engage participants in the learning process.Conducts quality assurance testing on all training materials created, including loading, testing and evaluating programs in the Learning Management System/Learning Content Management SystemDesigns, writes and ensures consistent packaging of dynamic instructor-led training modulesStays up-to-date and expand knowledge on instructional design and e-learning industry trends and related technology.Partners with key leaders across the ministry to assess hospital and clinic-wide development needs to drive training initiatives.Leads effort to optimize RoE (Return on Expectations) for EHR Education. This includes relevancy of content, assessment of delivery methods and determining measurable outcomes.Maintains EHR Certified status and uses EHR Experience to strategically partner with stakeholders to support clinical and revenue performance and competency identification.


Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of three to five years instructional design experience in adult learning design and development with a proven track record in e-learning courseware and web-based technologies as well as instructor-led materials.
  • Required Education: Bachelors degree in training and development related field or equivalent experience in a corporate training environment.
  • Certifications: Certification in EHR application and experience training EHR curriculum.
  • Other: Strong knowledge of e-learning instructional design methodologies and tools. Demonstrated ability to develop innovative, creative and highly interactive design solutions in both instructor-led and e-learning environments. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Self-starter with organizational and interviewing/research abilities. Project management skills. Ability to work independently and be an effective team player. Proficiency in development tools/technologies including Articulate Suite, Adobe Captivate 4 or higher, Adobe Soundbooth CS3, Adobe Photoshop, and PowerPoint 2007. Working knowledge of SCORM principles, including experience with developing and using Reusable Learning Objects and working with a SCORM environment.
