Overview
Provides strategic and operational leadership in planning, developing, directing and evaluating organizational efforts to integrate the Mercy mission and values and our Catholic identity into the decisions and activities of the leadership and into the day-to-day operations of the people serving in the Mercy health ministry.
Qualifications
- Experience: Five years healthcare experience; senior management leadership preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge with ability to communicate and apply the knowledge in the following areas:
- Catholic theology, ecclesiology, ministry, and those aspects of canon law pertinent to healthcare
- Personal and organizational spirituality
- Clinical, business, and organizational ethics, and social justice
- Organizational dynamics, i.e., adult learning, group process, organizational culture, change management, healthcare management and financing, and collaboration
- Required Education: Masters degree in theology with a specialization in mission services, or a commitment to work toward this degree, is required.
- Other:
- Committed to and personally embodying the Mercy mission and values
- Person of faith well formed in the Catholic tradition
- Living a practical integrated spirituality
- Team-oriented and capable of establishing mutually beneficial relationships with diverse groups of people
- Knowledgeable about contemporary healthcare delivery systems and about ethical issues facing the field
- Manifesting personal presence and charisma characterized by honesty, integrity, self-confidence, initiative, service orientation, comfort with ambiguity, caring with compassion
- Inspiring and motivating to others to be committed to and to live out the Mercy mission and values
- Engaging in life-long learning, self reflection and development
