AGENCY BACKGROUND:

PROGRAM BACKGROUND:
This position is responsible for oversight of all aspects of casework for youth and families in 4 of our Long Island Residential Programs. These programs include a co-ed group home (Brightwaters) for youth aged 14-21; a Pregnant Parenting and Postpartum group home for teens and their babies (East Massapequa); the RISE program on campus for youth aged 16-18 who have been adjudicated for non-violent felonies and the Non-Secure Detention program on campus.
SUMMARY:
The Caseworker Supervisor will be responsible for administration of all aspects of the program and the supervision of the caseworkers and/or MSW’s in the case planning and direct service to the children/adolescents and families.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Masters in Social Work (MSW) & license (LMSW) with current registration is required.
- 2 years administrative supervisory related experience required.
- Knowledge and training in working with child/adolescent & families including child/adolescent development stages and family dynamics.
- Understanding and willingness to commit to the agency’s Mission, core values, Sanctuary commitments and Social Justice.
- Valid Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Hire, train, supervise and evaluate all assigned staff.
- Coordinate monthly staff meetings
- Assist caseworkers in developing realistic treatment goals
- Ensure assigned staff conduct Field Visits to client’s homes, schools, treatment centers, etc
- Ensure monthly foster home visits to assess the quality of care, well being, and safety in the child’s home environment.
- Ensure the required/recommended services for each child on assigned caseload (medical, developmental, clinical, and educational) and monitor the outcomes and progress.
- Ensure required documentation for all case actions (progress notes, FASPs, Permanency Reports, Plan Amendments, etc) within established timeframes.
- Attend DSS/OCFS and agency staff meetings and trainings. Mentoring new staff; providing opportunities for shadowing and assistance with required paperwork.
- Respond to emergencies as needed and/or directed
- Attend to budgetary processes
- Maintain program statistics and prepare reports.
- Represent program at relevant community and professional organizations
- Demonstrate competency in child development
- Demonstrate cultural competency
- Maintain appropriate boundaries.

Salary Range:
$68,000 - $70,000 per year
Hiring bonus of $1,000 after 500 worked hours
