- Demonstrates a current level of knowledge of various payor regulations by functioning within those guidelines.
- Evaluates patient and family understanding of treatment plan and/or instructions.
- Acts to facilitate interdisciplinary communication to promote continuity of care/services.
- Performs laboratory testing (including phlebotomy and a variety of routine and/or automated tests), quality assurance procedures, and maintains records of tests performed and results received.
- Complies with regulatory agencies (i.e., OSHA, Department of Health, CLIA) in operation of x-ray and lab.
- Performs radiological services and quality assurance procedures.
- Maintains inventory of lab/x-ray/nursing supplies.
- Reports results and pertinent information to patients and healthcare team members.
- Assists with the assessment by collection of basic data for assigned patients in the clinic or on the phone. Documents basic data and care/instructions given.
- Assists with a variety of minor procedures, exams and/or operation of diagnostic equipment as assigned.
- Educates residents on clinic processes at all levels of their training.
- Educates medical students during their family medicine rotation.
- Participates in staff development activities and orientation as requested.
- Must maintain State of Iowa permit to practice Radiology.
- Possession of a current license as a LPN issued by the State of Iowa.
- CPR Certified
- Clinic/physician office experience preferred.
- Knowledge of radiographic theory and techniques, clinic policies and procedures, and specimen collection. Medical lab techniques, principles and instruments. Principles of anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, and disease processes.
