Position Purpose:
The Quality Services Coordinator directs the medical center’s Quality Improvement and Infection Prevention Programs related to the hospital and clinic. The Quality /Infection Prevention Coordinator will provide support and input to leadership, related to regulatory requirements of state and federal governing agencies as appropriate. He / She will assist personnel in a collaborative effort to foster continuous quality improvement by integrating the quality assessment and improvement initiatives throughout the organization. The Quality/ Infection Prevention Coordinator is responsible for assuring completeness of data collection and input into related financial tools and regulatory reporting mechanisms. IE: peer review, charge audit, volumes, and brings information forward to the responsible party. Promotes quality patient care and customer satisfaction through support performance improvement initiatives, financial management, education, communication, and changes for improved patient care, for appropriate levels of care.

What You Will Do
- Acts as a consultant to nursing colleagues and other health care professionals, providing clinical expertise and recommendations to nurses, medical staff, multidisciplinary health care providers, patients/patient representatives, and families when needed.
- Serves as a resource and works with department leaders and staff in a collaborative effort to identify processes in need of improvement, assists in the development of plans of action to evaluate efficacy of change and continuous quality improvement, integrating quality assessment and improvement throughout the organization.
- Abstracts patient and clinical information from the medical record and enters into a variety of databases for the purpose of demonstrating compliance with regulatory standards and quality indicators specific to quality-of-care delivery.
- Performs data collection requiring complex decision-making as needed for clinical transformation teams.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate of a school of nursing. RN Required
- Bachelor's degree in nursing required. ** If the qualified candidate does not have a BSN, there must be a commitment to complete a BSN program within five years from start date, in the role.
- Certification through the Certification Board for Infection Control (CBIC) is highly recommended.
Minimum of 2 years of registered nursing experience.
Special Skills And Competencies - Preferred
- Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, Power Point, and with electronic health records
- Detail oriented
- Basic knowledge/skills working with data systems and CQI.
- Ability to work independently in analyzing data, exercising judgment using critical thinking
clinical judgement.
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships
- Demonstrated ability to operate in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
- Excellent communication skills including public speaking, presentation and writing skills
- Must provide proof of Basic Life Support (BLS Healthcare Provider, American Heart Association; or American Red Cross, Professional Rescuer-LIVE class only) via current card prior to employment or within 60 days of hire and maintains current status.
- Completes Mandatory Reporting: Child and Dependent Adult Abuse
- Completes Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – American Heart Association within 6 months of hire and maintains current status.
- Completes Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) – American Heart Association within 6 months of hire and maintains current status.
- Completes Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – American Heart Association within 6 months of hire and maintains current status.
