What are the responsibilities and job description for the Team Leader - RN -- 6W Cardiac Step-down Unit - Full Time (.9) - Nights position at MercyOne?
Position Purpose:
This position accepts the responsibility and accountability for the delivery of patient care during the patients stay, using the nursing process. The Team Leader uses the principles of servant leadership to achieve results for the organization by attending to the needs of those they serve. They are a resource for their nurse team members and assist them with critical thinking, problem solving, removing barriers, training and auditing processes.
What you will Do:
- Teamwork. Facilitate team building.
- Encourages a safe environment by promoting adherence to established protocols, policies and procedures.
- Role model, for staff, other depts. Adapts positively to the ever-changing health care environment by supporting technology and process changes. Willing to learn new things, is open to change and maintains a calm positive manner under stressful conditions
- Problem solver, moving beyond problem identification. Identifies and acts to solve problems, supports process improvement teams, which influence customer satisfaction, clinical outcomes and financial stability. (5-why's, waste eliminations, work orders)
- Manage quality improvement. Actively support and participate in the work of the huddle metrics.
- Learning and teaching on a daily basis.
- Regularly rounds on patients and team members focusing on safety, quality, patient experience and employee satisfaction.
- Promotes efficient patient flow including timely discharges and admissions.
Hours/Schedule:
Full Time 36hrs a week, 12hr shifts 7pm - 7:30am
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate of a program in professional nursing required.
- BSN Preferred.
- Current RN licensure in the state of Iowa.
- Previous experience in acute care preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours.
