Located in Birmingham, AL, the Dotdash Meredith Food Studios is a state-of-the-art facility featuring 28 test kitchens, 13 photo studios, a prop and styling studio, an outdoor grill / BBQ station, and an expansive showcase kitchen and tasting room for demonstrations and events. Powered by a talented team of test kitchen professionals, stylists, and photographers, the Dotdash Meredith Food Studios is the country’s premier creative hub, producing thousands of world-class recipes, images, and related content annually for Dotdash Meredith’s print, digital, and social platforms.
The Photography Assistant will assist the studio photographers to create visual content for Dotdash Meredith’s print and digital brands. The position reports to the Photo Equipment Manager.
Essential Job Functions | Accountabilities, Actions and Expected Measurable Results
- 20% - Help the equipment manager maintain the studio equipment and ensure the studio is kept tidy and organized.
- 20% - Deliver gear, and help set up and break down sets.
- 30% - Assist photographers on-set, working closely with the equipment manager, to make sure all photographer needs are met.
- 10% - Input metadata / help with deliverables to brands.
- 20% - Assist in training and mentoring the photo fellow.
