What are the responsibilities and job description for the Experienced Private Investigator- Surveillance position at Merge Investigations, Inc.?
INTRODUCTION:
PA-based insurance investigation company in search of experienced private investigators. We are hiring for covert surveillance investigations. Candidates will work cases in and around the Morgantown, WV area, ideally with a 2-hour travel radius. Qualified candidates should be able to provide history of previous direct and/or related experience. Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle suitable for covert surveillance required. Position is part-time, as needed, and would be a great fit to fill in your work schedule or simply work on a part-time, as needed, basis.
POSITION SUMMARY
SURVEILLANCE: This position conducts assigned investigations in a discreet manner. These cases include Mobile & Covert Surveillance, Activity Checks, Alive & Well Checks and Spot Checks. This position travels continuously within an agreed upon radius and is responsible for identifying the assigned individual and capturing documentation via video footage. Candidates should have their own vehicle that would be suitable for covert surveillance, as well as have or be willing to purchase a video camera. Cell phone cameras are not permissible. This individual reports directly to a Surveillance Case Manager. Reports, video and updates are submitted daily. Additional consideration will be given to candidates with Workers Compensation or Liability Claims experience and/or experience with AOE/COE/SIU experience.
- Obtains video footage of individuals relating to assigned cases.
- Travels to and from various locations in order to complete assigned cases.
- Provides updates daily to supervisor/input updates into the case management system.
- Completes detailed and accurate reports based on results/template in a timely manner.
- Conducts stationary, mobile and covert surveillance functions.
- Testifies in a professional manner in a court of law upon request.
EDUCATION
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. One or more years of investigative experience preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position requires the occasional need for quick decisions, distractions that interfere, the need to concentrate and the need to perform multiple tasks. This position requires operating electronic equipment 25%-75% of the day. The ability to sit, stand, and walk for an extended period of time is required. This position requires a large amount of driving.
REQUIREMENTS
Investigators must be quick-thinking, detail oriented and possess the ability to be discreet and flexible. The use of a video camera for surveillance work is frequent throughout the day. This individual must conduct tasks in an efficient and professional manner. This individual must also display sensitivity to confidential information and correspondence, as well as access to privileged information. Reliable vehicle suitable for covert surveillance, reasonable driving record and proof of car insurance required. Candidates under consideration will be asked to complete an application and sent a link for a remote interview. Preference will be given to individuals who possess experience in both AOE/COE and Surveillance Investigation work.
