Lead QC Tech

Job Summary

As the Quality Control Lead, you’ll be responsible for making sure our products pass all our internal standards, while managing the daily flow of products through the department and acting as a resource on the floor for the tech’s questions. The lead is expected to act as a liaison between the QC supervisor and the techs.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Operate instruments which includes but not limited to: Microscope, Viscometer, Spectrometer, TGA, DSC, DMA/TMA , Dionex IC, Dage, Instron, Shore Hardness Gages and Microtrac
• Troubleshoot and repair instruments, escalate when needed.
• Perform equipment maintenance.
• Calibrate viscometer daily.
• Tests finished packaged products and perform viscosity checks on outgoing products
• Record test results electronically or on standardized forms
• Maintain physical or electronic files of reports, forms, certificates etc.
• Test Syringes and Bi-packs, incoming raw materials, viscosity checks, Bulk Materials
• Understanding of ISO 9001
• Performs tests to MIL-STD-883 5011 when required.
• Prepares solutions and standards were applicable.
• Data sheet testing and other specialty testing as requested by QC supervisor.
• Organizes and manages flow of products through the department in conjunction with the QC supervisors needs.
• Attends meetings as needed to represent the lab

• Strong leadership skills
• Ability to work with QC Techs to help them succeed in their role.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.
• Be articulate and able to work collaboratively, both internally and externally.
• Understand how the analytical equipment operates, but also why the testing is conducted and how it impacts the product.
• Be able to work in an environment that emphasizes congeniality, creativity, flexibility, and fast-paced activities while, at the same time, ensuring that the Company operates in accordance with its guidelines and commitments.
• Be able to accept direction and supervision well while possessing the initiative to make independent decisions.
• Possess the highest levels of personal and professional integrity.

Education & Experience

• Working knowledge of analytical instrumentation and GLP basics
• 3 years experience in QC laboratory conditions mandatory
• An Associates of Science strongly preferred however an exception may be made in lieu of experience at the supervisors discretion

Physical Requirements

• Standing and sitting throughout the day as needed
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Schedule: 8:00am-4:30pm M-F

Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour
