Job Summary
Pulls and ships orders using scanners and desktop computer. Loads and unloads trucks. Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment and invoicing by performing the following duties. Works with cross functional departments in providing raw materials, receiving finished goods, and moving inventory items.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, picking tickets, or other records.
- Contacts transport companies, brokers, and suppliers to expedite, trace or return merchandise that does not conform to specifications or purchase and sale orders.
- Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons and pallets of outgoing shipments.
- Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications. Handles customer pick-ups.
- Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies and cycle count inventory according to established guidelines and assist with developing actions to correct inventory problems.
- Operates powered industrial lift trucks, hand jack ,or other equipment to move items
- Effectively load or unload, transport, and store goods safely and efficiently.
- Studies picking tickets, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules.
- Oversees incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and shipment condition by Inspecting and verifying incoming goods against invoices or other documents, record shortages, and reject damaged goods.
- Reads shipping orders to determine quantity and type of transportation needed.
- Receives merchandise - checks and signs delivery slips and assists with unloading as necessary.
- Audits open orders report to ensure order fulfillment.

- Ability to calculate basic math with the aid of a calculator.
Education & Experience
- Minimum two (2) years prior experience in shipping/receiving environment. High School diploma or GED preferred.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Inventory software and Manufacturing software.Physical Requirements
- Must be willing to stand for ling periods of time.
- Twisting , Bending, & climbing into Powered industrial trucks/Lifts.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
Information & Compensation & Benefits
Schedule: 1st Shift 7:30 am-3:30 pm M-F
Pay: This position has a salary range of $16.00 - $20.00 per hour. The above range represents the expected salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic location
Bonus Pay: Meridian is actively participating in a productivity incentive plan for 2025. Eligible employees have the opportunity to earn up to $1,520 a year, with payments distributed quarterly throughout the year.
