Summary
Route daily truck shipments, prepare correct documentation for shipments, receive all inbound freight, process, and ship all small parcel orders, provide documentation, and communicate between different departments, invoice at the end of day.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Includes the following (Other duties may be assigned)
- Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of outgoing shipments to verify the information against the bills of ladings, picking tickets, or other records.
- Contacts transport companies, brokers to route, expedite, trace shipments.
- Provides shipping documents (BOL, packing slip, pallet labels, COA) to the Shipping/Receiving team members.
- Receives merchandise - checks and signs delivery slips, note damages, or any other issues with goods, verify counts, lot numbers associated with the shipment. communicate with QC and purchasing departments, send applicable documentation, receive goods into ERP system, and assists with unloading if necessary.
- Must be able to communicate verbally and through e-mail with QC, purchasing, and customer service departments.
- Assist with customer pickups.
- Process daily small parcel shipments with UPS and FedEx.
- Assist with cycle counting inventory according to established guidelines and assist with developing actions to correct inventory problems.
- Operates powered industrial lift trucks, uses hand jack or other equipment to move items from a storage location. Effectively load or unload, transport, and store goods safely and efficiently when needed.

- Participate in physical inventories and cycle counting.
- Contribute to team effort, i.e. assisting in any area required, etc.
- Train designated employees on related procedures.
- Participate in safety, loss control, accident, incident and rework investigations, as assigned.
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience: Minimums two (2) years prior experience in shipping/receiving environment. High school diploma or GED preferred.
Language Skills: Ability to communicate in English effectively with the employees of the organization, vendors, customers, and guests.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate basic math with the aid of a calculator.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, and individual should have knowledge of inventory, manufacturing, shipping software and e-mail.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position requires that the incumbent be physically able to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
Job Performance Standards
Shipping Duties:
- Ensure material to be shipped matches picking tickets and is scanned properly to maintain our inventory integrity.
- Generate accurate packing slips via desktop computer.
- Uses approved shipping vendors and regularly confer with Logistics Manager to achieve lowest possible shipping costs.
- Responsible for ensuring shipping method used matches customer request.
- Accurately label all items to be shipped.
- Accurately record all shipping/freight costs.
- Maintains internal record keeping systems.
- Daily, ship all orders due based on directives given.
- Knows proper shipping procedures for transportation of dangerous goods
- Knows safe storage and handling procedures for various chemicals and materials.
- Makes inventory, maintain storage area, organizes, and places stock on shelves. Ensures the site is always secure. Must follow proper inventory procedures.
- Adheres to all safety standards as provided by the company.

- Weekend/Overtime may be required when needed to meet company objectives.

Pay: $20.00-$26.00 per hour
