Job purpose

The Clinical Development and Training Specialist is a seasoned clinician with a passion for building and delivering engaging, effective training content. Reporting to the Manager of Compliance Operations, this position works closely with the clinical staff and leadership to drive education surrounding clinical and compliance regulations, in accordance with 245G guidelines, government statutes and accreditation standards. Additionally, the Clinical Development and Training Specialist will assess company-wide clinical opportunities and develop, present and train staff on corresponding policies, procedures, and skills necessary to provide the highest level of patient care.

Duties and responsibilities

The following duties are normal for this position.  These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive.  Other duties may be required and assigned.

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to analyze learning needs and develop sustainable solutions, programs and tools.
  • In conjunction with the Training and Development Trainer, as well as associated stakeholders, develop content for engaging training modules. Build materials which focus on strategic aims to promote the clinical effectiveness and growth of programs.
  • In collaboration with the Training and Development Trainer, design assessments and identify, track, and analyze key metrics to evaluate success of outcomes.
  • Ensure a consistent and scalable training approach across the system to drive sustainable development and continuous process improvement.
  • In collaboration with Human Resources and other stakeholders, design comprehensive onboarding and promote learning experiences which align with organizational strategic goals and continuous improvement aims.
  • Prioritize the design and efficacy of site and system clinical curriculum.
  • Support training and education of frontline staff through both clinical supervisions, as well as systemic supervision standardization.
  • Provide qualitative analysis of system work, including listening to clinical calls, reviewing charting, participating in staffing's, and observing live groups. With stakeholders, drive quality improvement efforts and process enhancement to remedy gaps.
  • Collaborate with leaders to ensure creation and instruction of new training to meet and mitigate gaps in care.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks to validate compliance with 245G, accreditation standards, company policy, and associated industry regulations, particularly in the areas of orientation, training, and supervision.
  • Support leaders in quality improvement analysis as well as mitigation strategies and operational solutions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:  Bachelor’s degree in business, nursing, or a human service field; master's degree in business, nursing, or a human services field preferred 

  • Terminal clinical licensure (LADC, RN, LPCC, LMFT, or LICSW) preferred

Experience:

  • Proven experience in Behavioral or Healthcare Programs and Services
  • Minimum of two-years’ experience in operational management or supervisory activities
  • Two or more years post-graduate experience supervising programs or people, including in quality improvement activities preferred
  • Two or more years post-graduate experience in a clinical role preferred

  • Strong attention to details. 
  • Proven success in working across multiple levels of an organization, leading operational. 
  • Knowledge of policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements governing SUD and Mental Health Care.  
  • Knowledge of chemical and mental health concerns and their treatment.  
  • Change agent, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, efficiency, and innovative thinking.

Physical Requirements
