The Internal Audit Manager is responsible for leading and executing the internal audit function, with a primary focus on Korean Sarbanes-Oxley (K-SOX) compliance and general internal audits across the Meridian Bioscience global organization. K-SOX is similar in scope to the U.S equivalent Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations. This role requires an individual with a deep understanding of business internal controls processes, internals control over financial reporting, information technology general controls (ITGC), audit methodologies, and fraud risk assessment. The manager will work closely with senior leadership, business units, and external auditors to ensure adherence to K-SOX testing requirements, safeguard assets, and identify opportunities for operational improvements.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
SOX Compliance (Primary Focus)
- Lead and oversee the planning, execution, and reporting of K-SOX internal control testing and documentation across all business internal control processes, internal controls over financial reporting and information technology general controls (ITGC)
- Oversee the development of audit plans and ensure adherence to timelines and budgets
- Assess and evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls in compliance with K-SOX requirements
- Perform internal control testing and supervise other Meridian Finance personnel who perform management’s internal control testing
- Partner with management to drive remediation of control deficiencies and process improvements
- Coordinate and liaise with external auditors to support K-SOX audits and provide necessary documentation
- Review and maintain the K-SOX compliance program, ensuring updates are aligned with regulatory changes
- Maintain control and testing documentation within system (currently using Blackline as a repository for this information)
- Plan and perform internal audits to evaluate the effectiveness of operational, financial, and compliance controls across various departments
- Evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of business processes, internal controls, and procedures
- Prepare comprehensive audit reports, including findings, recommendations, and corrective actions for management review
- Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations and ensure timely resolution of audit issues
- Design and implement fraud risk assessments, including identifying and assessing areas vulnerable to fraud within the organization
- Develop fraud prevention strategies and controls to minimize the risk of fraud
- Monitor and evaluate fraud risks across the business, providing recommendations for mitigation
- Work closely with Finance senior management to communicate audit findings and provide recommendations for process improvements and risk mitigation
- Present audit findings and updates to the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors and the Korean ownership group
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure audit plans are aligned with business objectives
- Ability to walk up and down several flights of stairs throughout the work day in a multi-location facility
- Must be able to concentrate, analyze and solve complex issues throughout the course of the work day
- Ability to work on a PC including repetitive use of a keyboard and mouse for long periods throughout the course of the work day
- Ability to sit for long periods of time, stoop, reach, bend throughout the course of the work day
- May be required to work outside normal business hours including evenings and/or weekends to support business needs
- Ability to walk up and down several flights of stairs throughout the work day in a multi-location facility

Minimum Education or Equivalent Experience Required/Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- CPA, CIA, CISA, or other relevant certifications preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance & accounting, including no less than 3 years of experience in external or internal auditing, with significant knowledge of internal controls compliance
- Proven experience in leading audit projects
- In-depth knowledge of SOX regulations and internal control frameworks (COSO)
- Knowledge of ITGC control documentation and testing
- Strong understanding of fraud risk management, detection, and prevention
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present audit findings to senior leadership
- Proficiency with audit management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong ethical standards and a high level of professionalism
- Adaptable and proactive in identifying opportunities for process improvements
- Moderate travel by air, car, train, bus or other public transportation to other MBI locations.
- Travel requirements are estimated to be 20-35% of time
