About the Consultant Role
Join Meridian’s dynamic consulting team as a Consultant, Executive Compensation. In this role, you’ll play an essential role in supporting our Partners, Principals, and Senior Consultants by providing critical research data analysis that helps shape executive compensation strategies across diverse industries. As a Consultant, your responsibilities include conducting industry research, preparing peer group analyses, and benchmarking executive compensation data. You’ll be involved in supporting client-facing projects and assisting with the preparation of materials for presentations to senior executives and boards of directors. This role offers significant opportunities to grow your own consulting skills, work closely with experienced professionals, and contribute to key client deliverables.
As you grow, you’ll continue to gain project management and client relationship responsibilities – engaging in client calls and meetings to support ongoing projects and manage the relationship. What You’ll Do
· Conduct in-depth research and analysis to benchmark executive pay, evaluate compensation structures, and develop peer groups, applying advanced financial and business insights
· Analyze executive compensation programs and financial performance using tools like Excel, Capital IQ, and other data analysis methodologies to support client strategy development
· Prepare and deliver materials for client-ready presentations, reports, and memos
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams and participate in internal team calls to ensure alignment and successful project delivery
· Support and manage multiple client projects, ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of high-quality outputs for both internal and client-facing initiatives.
· Contribute to RFP responses and strategic proposals, helping position the firm for future client engagements
· Build on foundational knowledge of accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements related to executive compensation while staying current on industry trends and best practices
· Take initiative to grow your skills by contributing meaningfully to high-impact projects and positioning yourself for upward mobility within the firm
Who You Are
Fundamentals and Interests:
· Possess a strong interest in executive compensation, with a focus on benchmarking, incentive design, and corporate governance trends.
· Demonstrate Proficiency in financial analysis and data interpretation, with a solid understanding of relevant tools and methodologies.
Skills and Abilities:
· Possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to distill complex information into clear, actionable insights.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of developing and delivering high-quality reports and presentations.
· Ability to work independently while also thriving in collaborative, team-oriented environments.
· Proficient knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; knowledge of Capital IQ

Education and Experience
· A Bachelor's degree preferably with a concentration in finance, accounting, business, or economics
· At least 1 year of experience in compensation or consulting (experience in executive compensation consulting is preferred but not required)
